Teaching

I began teaching piano privately when I moved to Worcester in 2008. In 2012, I started as a part time piano teacher at the Bromsgrove School of Music where I worked until 2018.
I now teach from home. I enjoy teaching people from all age groups and backgrounds.
I usually offer an initial lesson or two so that you can meet and chat with me about what your musical interests are and how we can work together. Although most people choose to learn how to read music alongside learning to play, I am also open to teaching improvised music and harmony (chords).

I also tutor for GCSE and BTEC music exams with good results achieved for students. This can be organised as per the requirements of each pupil.

Performing

I have performed as a concert soloist, but primarily as an accompanist. I played for Porcupine Productions for several years, performing in numerous lunchtime concerts, at venues such as St Pancras, and St Anne’s Kew churches, in London. I acted as pianist for a number of their music theatre performances, including ‘Gilbert and Sullivan Remembered’ plus numerous other shows, which included songs from the two world wars, popular songs by the classic American songwriters and more recent pop songs.
I am a cocktail pianist too, and held a residency at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Park Lane, Hyde Park Mandarin among others.
More recently I worked as a pianist for weddings at Grafton Manor in Bromsgrove.
I continue to work as a cocktail pianist and accompanist. I also work in conjunction with other pianists, working on duet repertoire.
Of course I enjoy playing on my own a great deal. This is the joy of the piano. !!
